Nexium 24HR 20 mg enteric coated tablets for the lasting symptomatic relief of frequent heartburn, acid regurgitation and other symptoms associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux.

Always take this medicine exactly as described in the Consumer Medicine Information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. If symptoms persist or recur within 2 weeks of completing the course, consult your doctor. Further examination may be required.

Sad story, but end

I had a recurrence of acid regurgitation after 2 days of taking Nexium 24HR and my child's symptoms were getting worse. My GP suggested a different drug, esomeprazole, was prescribed but the side effects were very severe and I was referred to a gastro-endoscopy. I switched to a different drug and there was no improvement in my symptoms. My gastro-endoscopy showed a recurrence of my symptoms but the doctor decided to change the course of my treatment to esomeprazole. I was given a prescription for 20mg Nexium 24HR to take for 14 days before trying to sleep. The 20mg dose kept getting better and my heart rate was dropping. I was told to stop, but my doctor did not think I was having any side effects. I have had a recurrence of acid regurgitation and I am going to continue taking the 20mg dose of Nexium 24HR next time I see a doctor. I have also noticed that I have nausea and vomiting although the nausea is very bad, it is not an issue. My doctor prescribed me liraglutide but the side effects were severe and I was told liraglutide is excreted in breast milk. I have had breast cancer and my doctor wants me to stop taking the tablets. I will be starting to take a liraglutide prescription again but I am scared I will not be able to control my acid reflux and I need to take the tablets again. My doctor prescribed me acitretin but I will be taking the acitretin prescription again as I have had to stop taking the tablets. I am going to stop taking liraglutide but I would like to know how liraglutide can help and how long will it take to work and what will work best for me? I am on a low dose of 20 mg. I am scared liraglutide is not the right medication for me but I have been on it for 7 years and I am so happy I have been prescribed the tablets and started taking the tablets.
